Harvey’s work has crossed genres, from the dark edge of THE LISTENER to the romance of HALLMARK Christmas movies; from the period drama of MURDOCH MYSTERIES to the contemporary adventure of HUDSON & REX; from the award-winning Nat Geo martial arts series DEADLY ARTS, to the epic historical scope of FOR KING AND EMPIRE. 

He’s directed nominated and award-winning television series, documentaries, docudramas, television movies and a feature film. Shoots have taken Harvey across Canada, into the Arctic and around the world to Brazil, Thailand, Okinawa, South Africa, Japan, India, France, England, United States, Holland, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Belgium, Turkey, Cuba, Hong Kong, Argentina, Russia, Estonia and Ukraine.  His work has been featured on CBC, CTV, CITY, Hallmark, A&E, PBS, BBC, ALIBI, W, ITV, Vision, Biography, TLC, Family Channel, Noggin, Disney, Nickelodeon, Discovery Health, Fox Kids, Fox U.S., Fox Int'l, YTV, Canal Plus, Canal J, ZDF, France 3, ABC Australia, National Geographic, History, Discovery and many more networks.

He holds dual Canadian and Irish citizenship and is able to travel and work with both a Canadian and an EU passport.

Harvey began his film and television career in Vancouver, Canada where he co-founded two production companies - Hy Perspectives Media Group and Siren Films. His production of the feature docudrama CLOSE TO HOME, about the continuum of sexual abuse, runaways and juvenile prostitution, became a nationally acclaimed MOW. His documentary SOMEWHERE BETWEEN helped end legislative discrimination of Indigenous women under The Indian Act. 

Harvey capped a directing run of 12 seasons and 24 episodes of the international hit series MURDOCH MYSTERIES by directing the 200th episode.  Most recently, he directed three episodes of the hit series HUDSON & REX and the series finale of FRANKIE DRAKE MYSTERIES.  Currently he is co-executive producer and director on the first season of BYUtv’s prime time series RUBY AND THE WELL
